The KhanØptic KineticGlass is a different way of doing lens filtration. It’s a fluid-filled lens filter, and when combined with the LumaTray, you can create a variety of unique looks in your matte box.
Each KineticGlass combination has its own unique characteristics. KineticGlass can mimic Effects Filters, Diffusion Filters, Color Conversion Filters, Neutral Density Filters, Graduated Filters, and Optical Flat Filters etc.

KineticGlass is constructed using machined aluminum, high-grade optical glass, and a solvent-resistant adhesive for optimal performance.

KineticGlass allows for its contents to move freely within the element, thus
generating a dynamic effect through the lens. KineticGlass contains a space between two glass wafers. This space can be filled with any desired substance or particles that will fit the 1mm access point.

What makes the product very interesting is that KineticGlass is delivered empty and comes as a kit. It is then up to you how you want to use it.

You can use any of the included fluids or mix and match them to your particular taste.
You need to be mindful of what is placed inside KineticGlass. It may be hard or impossible to remove certain objects (i.e. fishing line). The filter essentially becomes committed to that look. When using powders and pigments, a thin layer will adhere to the glass.
There are several ways to excite KineticGlass:
Natural Light
KineticGlass will react to light sources present within the environment.
On Board Illumination
A light source can be attached to the camera body and directed towards KineticGlass.
LumaTray
The LumaTray is an accessory designed for ultimate control over KineticGlass.
The LumaTray is an illuminated filter tray designed as an accessory for KineticGlass. This flicker-free bi-color light source will excite any particles present within the matte box.
KineticGlass can be fully controlled via the dedicated Bluetooth Phone Application or a hardwired button. This allows you to control brightness, color temp, direction, flank, and effects.
Rotating Filter Tray Ø138

KhanØptic’s rotating filter tray uses magnets. Filters can be swapped out in a matter of seconds.
The Rotating Filter Tray allows for precise control over the orientation of KineticGlass.
When paired with a Remote Follow Focus unit, KineticGlass can be activated/deactivated mid-take as well as remain active indefinitely.
This Rotating Filter Tray is also compatible with existing Ø138 filters, such as circular polarizers and ND filters.
