Kinefinity has announced a new 2.2 firmware update along with a set of new accessories for their EAGLE e-Viewfinders. The EAGLE e-Viewfinders are excellent products, and it is good to see Kinefinity releasing firmware improvements and new accessories.

The 2.2 firmware brings three major enhancements:
- Log-to-Rec.709 Monitoring: Instantly view Rec.709 color for faster exposure and color evaluation. Supports SLog3, VLog, FLog2, NLog, Clog, Clog2, and Clog3.
- Focus Assist Sharpening: Adjustable from [1–20], providing enhanced edge clarity for precise manual focusing.
- On-Screen Function Notifications: Shows active functions (Peaking, False Color, Zebra, Magnification) to prevent confusion.
Additional improvements include a False Color Exposure Scale, Magnification Indicator, Color Fine-Tuning, Enhanced Screen Saver, and Assist Function State Memory to restore previous settings after a reboot.
The update also addresses several bug fixes to ensure reliable operation. It fixes occasional frame stuttering on the EAGLE HDMI when running at 59.94 fps, corrects image misalignment issues on both EAGLE SDI and HDMI, and resolves timecode display errors that could occur when connecting the EAGLE SDI to the Canon EOS C80.
Additionally, firmware upgrade stability across both EAGLE SDI and HDMI has been improved.
New Accessories
Kinefinity has also expanded the EAGLE ecosystem with new accessories:
- SDI e-Viewfinder Cord (0B2P, 50 cm): Provides power for EAGLE SDI e-Viewfinder via a 0B 2-pin output, suitable for cameras with 0B2P DC Output.
- HDMI E-Viewfinder Cord (0B2P, 50cm): Converts 0B2P DC Output to PD USB-C to power the EAGLE HDMI e-Viewfinder.
