Godox has officially announced its new KNOWLED AM1600R full-color light mat. With 1600W full-color output, the AM1600R was built to help illuminate large-scale scenarios.
It is available in 4’×8‘ and 8’×8‘ flexible sizes, while detachable diffusers and accessories. It features CCT/HSI/RGBW/GEL/FX color modes, and full +/- G/M adjustment.
We first saw a prototype of the KNOWLED AM1600R at Cine Gear 2025 in Los Angeles last month.
Built with a reinvented butterfly airframe, the AM1600R is claimed to provide exceptional strength, airtightness, and stability for up to 15 days without reinflation.
Built to handle unpredictable weather, the AM1600R’s light body and controller meet IP54 standards, providing reliable protection against rain, dust, and challenging outdoor conditions.
The AM1600R, as the name suggests, draws 1600W. It is said to be very quick to set up, and it looks like a good solution if you need a large overhead lighting source or a big soft source.
It comes with a separate power supply/controller.
The AM1600R can also be controlled via CRMX, DMX, Ethernet, the KNOWLED App and by on-board control.
The AM1600R’s Velcro-fastened modular design makes panel replacements easy, saving time and cutting costs on set. A repair kit is included to fix any leaks in the inflatable butterfly frame quickly. Accessories are also fully detachable for easy cleaning or replacement.
The light is also available in a 4′ x 8′ version.
