Laowa 200mm F2 First Look at IBC 2025

At IBC 2025 in Amsterdam, Laowa was showing its upcoming, yet to be announced, 200mm F2 full-frame lens. The lens will be available in Sony E, Nikon Z, and Canon EF mounts.

The lens weighs 1.7kg / 3.74 lb for the Sony E and Nikon Z mount versions. The Canon EF mount version will be 1.5kg / 3.30 lb.

It has a 105 mm front filter diameter, and the Sony E and Nikon Z mount versions have a rear filter slot where you can put in various filters such as VND, CPL, etc.

Laowa told me that the optical performance will be very good. It is claimed to have excellent edge-to-edge sharpness and nice round bokeh.

Pricing & Availability

The Laowa 200mm F2 will be available soon for $1,799 USD for the Canon EF version and $1,999 USD for the Sony E and Nikon Z mount versions.
