Canon CINE-SERVO 11-55mm T2.95-3.95 Cinema Zoom Lens

Canon has announced its new CINE-SERVO 11-55mm T2.95-3.95 Cinema Zoom Lens, which features an ultra-wide angle of 100 degrees. This is wider than Canon’s previous widest cine-servo lens, the CINE-SERVO 15-120mm T2.95-3.9 Zoom Lens.

According to Canon, this is a versatile lens designed for broadcasters and professionals across sports, live events, houses of worship, etc. Canon states that the lens is well-suited for stabilization rigs, jib arms for both tight for closer view and sweeping panoramics at sporting events, churches, and real estate venues.

Canon claims that the CINE-SERVO 11-55mm T2.95-3.95 delivers stunning image quality with Super 35mm sensor coverage, expanding to full-frame capability when paired with its built-in 1.5x extender.

It features a lightweight design and improved center of gravity, making it well-suited to shoulder-mount work. The 11mm focal length, equivalent to 4.1mm on a 2/3-inch broadcast camera, offers a super wide field of view. The 11-55mm or (82.5mm with the extender) focal range offers a lot of versatility.

The lens features a newly developed drive unit, and Canon claims that it offers fast focus and iris speed. There is also Focus Breathing Compensation and a USB-C connector for personalized settings. The drive unit equipped with a 16-bit absolute value encoder provides accurate positional information for virtual production. Like all of the other Canon CINE-SERVO zooms, you can remove the servo drive.

The programmable rocker switch provides precise zoom control, while ARIA compatibility enhances illumination performance, and ALAC compatibility provides aberration correction with compatible cameras.

The CINE-SERVO 11-55mm T2.95-3.95 is Available in RF and PL mount versions, and it offers autofocus with RF Mount, and Cooke/I Technology, Zeiss eXtended data with PL Mount.

The CINE-SERVO 11-55mm T2.95-3.95 looks to be a good companion lens to the Canon CINE-SERVO 25-250mm T2.95 Cinema Zoom Lens.

The Canon CINE-SERVO 11-55mm T2.95-3.95 Lens is currently scheduled to ship in November 2025, available in RF and PL mount versions, for an estimated retail price of $35,300 USD.
