At IBC 2025 in Amsterdam, KIPON was showing its newly announced CINESPEED65 37-156mm T3.6 Cinezoom for medium format cinema cameras.
The CINESPEED65 37-156mm Cinezoom comes in LPL mount, and it was designed specifically for medium format cinema cameras. It features a very complex optical design, and I had a quick play with it on the show floor. The lens is nice and sharp and has pleasing bokeh. The range was very impressive on the Blackmagic Design URSA Cine 17K.
It will cover a 60mm image diameter, and it is claimed to have very minimal focus breathing and well-controlled distortion.
The lens weighs in at 8.25kg / 18.2 lbs, and it is 41cm / 16.14″ long. It has a minimum focusing distance of 4.3′ / 131cm.
You could use this lens with cameras such as the BMCC 17K, FUJIFILM ETERNA, ARRI ALEXA 265, and ALEXA 65 cameras with sensor coverage from 55mm to 60mm.
