Ambient Lockit BT First Look at IBC 2025

At IBC 2025 in Amsterdam, Ambient was showing a sneak peek of its upcoming Lockit BT timecode and sync generator.

Based on the original Lockit, it features all of the same features and functionality, with the addition of Bluetooth.

Now that it has Bluetooth, you can use a free upcoming Apple iOS or Android app to monitor, control, and make changes to the Lockit BT, or any other Ambient timecode product, as they are all on the same network.

The other interesting development is that there is no reason why the new Lockit BT can’t be used with products from Zoom, Nikon, and Tascam that receive their timecode via Bluetooth. This would require those companies to implement a firmware upgrade so that they would work with the Ambient Lockit BT.

Pricing & Availability

The Ambient Lockit BT will cost around and around 50-100 Euros more than the standard Lockit. They should be shipping in December.
