Over the last few weeks, Salty Surf Housings has been putting a pre-release Nikon ZR through its paces in one of its retrofitted housings, and they have now come up with some dedicated housings.
There are two options available:
COMPACT
Minimal footprint, maximum versatility. Toss it in a carry-on, thrash it in the surf, or rig it to a drone. A full cage with multiple 1/4” & 3/8” mounts gives you endless options for creative setups.
BOOSTED
For shooters who never want to stop rolling. Designed around the FXLion Nano One V-Lock Battery for extended runtime. Perfect as an A/B/C cam on set, or just hours of fun in the water.
Both housings are built with:
* Machined 6061 billet aluminum
* 40m depth rating
* Marine-grade stainless + anodized aluminum controls
* M16x1 bulkhead for accessories like USB-C charging, leak detection, an external monitor, or director’s monitoring
* Signature SIREN Sea Blue anodized finish (or a custom paint finish)
COMPACT (Starts from $2,750 USD)
Built for surf, travel, and crash-cam applications, the Compact housing is the smallest, lightest way to take the Nikon ZR underwater. Designed around our XS port system, it’s streamlined for run-and-gun shooting, but fully adaptable to the XL port system for larger lenses.

Camera Configuration

BOOSTED (starts from $3,850 USD)
For longer missions and professional workflows, the Boosted housing adds internal space for a small V-Lock battery or power bank, giving your ZR extended runtime without breaking the seal. Optimised for the XL port system, it’s ready for wide domes, cine zooms, and all-day water shoots.

Camera Configuration
The Nikon ZR housing is designed to work with Nikon ZR camera, with space for an additional V-Lock battery.
The V-Lock compartment is optimised for a FXLion Nano One battery, but can fit others of similar size.
The camera then receives power via a USB-C cable from the V-lock battery for extended run times.
